Our only way back….

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Been awhile, but I’m back on track

Yes it has been awhile, but I am back. and I have to say I am more concerned than ever. Even though I have been attending to other pressing issues I have been keeping my eye on what is happening in our country and God help us. Literally, we all need to pray each and every day for God’s protection and guidance. This is going to be a truly defining year and we MUST all step up and do everything we can to defeat the scurge of socialism that is trying to take over our country. This is no light matter. More on this later.

How high, or low, is your bar set?

It’s been a few days since my last post.  I’ve had to spend some time thinking about my attitude and my personal outlook about my life and our country.  There has been so much negativity coming at all of us from so many directions it’s no wonder we haven’t seen more outbursts of anger and frustration than what we have.  I personally have had a feeling of being attacked.  My way of life, my personal income, my future, my country all seem to be under attack at the same time.  To say I have been continuously exhausted from it would be an under statement.  So what do we do?  How do we react to such things?  I recall once hearing someone say that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.  How true is that?  So now what.  Do I give in and just accept this is the way it’s going to be because that’s what ‘they’ say, or do I set my bar of expectation for myself and my life a bit higher?

The one thing I still have control over is my choice.  I can choose to stay in a heavy funk and throw my hands up and walk off or I can choose to cowboy up and shoot for better.  It has been proven time and time again that when expectations are set high, we has Americans and as human beings do everything we can to reach the bar.  This is true with children in school, athletes in sports, people in the work force, spouses, POLITICIANS and even of ourselves.  In fact, when expectations are lifted higher we without fail through pride, or simply as a challenge, will shoot to reach it.  I truly believe that over the past few decades we have continuously lowered the bar of expectations for our kids, our politicians, the people we do business with and ourselves.  It’s no wonder we can’t seem to find anyone to stand out as a true leader of the country, we are slipping badly in math and science compared to other countries and we continue to have social issues.  What can we expect when we expect so little?  Is it any wonder we can’t fine someone we can look up to and know without a doubt they will do what is right, the hard thing, the best thing for the country.  Not someone who is self serving and deceitful, who is going to take the easier softer way.  But what can I do?

The only thing I can do, the only person I have control over……the challenge is to lift my own bar.  To not allow the negativity to bring me down.  To keep pushing forward, do just a bit better, work a bit harder, stay a  bit more focused and reach for the next level.  Not only will this make a difference for me, but it just may make a difference to someone important to me.  Taking control of how we manage ourselves gives us a sense of empowerment, which is a huge help during really bad times.  If we all lift our own bar up just a bit, lift the bar within our own households, lift the level of expected performance of our representatives come November…..maybe, just maybe we can slowly right the ship.  But it all begins with just one.  How high, or low, is your bar set?

An aching heart

I have thought long and hard about whether to write this post or not.  It is a very personal issue and yet I have to believe that I am not alone with my feelings.  I consider myself an ultrapatriotic American.  Both I and my husband have served our beloved country in uniform for many years, our son has served as well.  We are law-abiding, God-fearing and believe in the original intent of the Constitution.  Up until the most recent years I have never been what I would consider a politically active person.  Like many the sum of my activity was voting on a regular basis.  I didn’t pay too much attention to political rhetoric or stump speeches and basically assumed the system would work the problems out.  Until now.

I find myself with an aching heart over what has happened to my country.  I have always had respect for the office of the president and the person occupying the oval office.  Regardless of the political party, as a military member and American, I respected the office…..it was in my DNA so to speak.  Until now.  Now with sincere pain in my heart and tears in my eyes and with a healthy amount of personal shame I have to admit that I actually have no….not even a little bit…of respect for the sitting president.  In fact, as much as it pains me to say it, I have great contempt for him and what he is doing to my beloved country.  He has all but totally torn apart the racial healing we as a country have worked hard for many decades to achieve.  He has bankrupted the country to the point that for generations we will be trying to recover from it.  He looks directly into a camera and has the audacity to actually read prepared, premeditated lies off of a teleprompter to the country.  He clearly will say or do anything believing that the people are too stupid to see through it.  It’s one thing to lie about personal behavior out of shame (Clinton), it is a totally another thing to sit there day after day, bold face claiming sunny skies when it clearly is pouring rain.  Who does he think we are?  Does he have no conscious?  Is there no limit to his arrogance?  Does he just not get that leading by example is Leadership 101 fundamentals?  Does he not understand that the country looks to the Whitehouse for guidance, truth and encouragement in times of trouble?  Instead we get a “let them eat cake” attitude from him and the First Lady…..dancing a jig and partying while the country is burning down around us?

The way I feel about this president often brings tears to my eyes when I see and hear each day the next unbelievable report of his arrogance, manipulation, lies and corruption.  The fact that I feel this way, that because of his behavior, I feel this way makes me even more angry at him.  But, as the relentless optimist that I am, I have chosen to look at the bright side of this.  Yes, I have been deeply disappointed…..but exactly about what?   I am disappointed that this man has ripped away the vail of naivete from my eyes.  Yes, at my age (nevermind the number) I was naive.  I believed that no matter who sat in the oval office he, or she, would automatically want the best for our country.  He would without fail do his best to maintain honor and integrity to the office and our country and to the rest of the world.  He would lead with a stern spirit, clear mind and a kind hand.  He would continue in the vein of his predecessors to lead to the best of his ability using the Constitution as his road map.  But apparently not.  The bright spot now is that, as with many others, I have awakened to the unfortunate reality, I have come to realize that I too have a responsibility to my country to pay closer attention to what all of our leaders are doing.  No longer can we afford to coast along and just assume our government, our president, has our best interest at heart.  It is time for me to wipe my eyes and begin to pay attention to what is going on.  Who are the people representing us and the country and will they bring us back to honor, integrity and the Constitution?  Making the necessary changes to get back to that will be the sure way to heal my aching heart.

Gotta love that Ted Nugent!!!!!

We’re the Ones Who Allowed Anti-Americans to Take Over America

By Ted Nugent, in the Washington Times,  Friday, July 30, 2010

Barack Hussein Obama did not sneak into power. An army of clueless, disconnected, ignorant Americans invited him to bring his Marxist, glaringly anti-American jihad into our lives. This president’s overtly destructive, clear-and-present-danger agenda is surpassed in transparency only by his ultra-leftist public voting record and overall lifetime conduct of consorting with the enemy as a child and student of Marxism, socialist and racist community organizer, congregant of the blatant America-hating black-theology- and social-justice-spewing Rev. Jeremiah Wright and close personal friend of convicted communist terrorists like Bill Ayers, and by his unflinching appointment of an array of communist czars, including Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, Anita Dunne, et al.  So let me get this straight: You claim your intentions were noble because you simply wanted to get your child a puppy but somehow didn’t notice that it was foaming at the mouth, and now you’re shocked that your child has rabies? I think not. That is not a mistake. It is negligence — dangerous, life threatening and, I am convinced, downright criminal negligence.

And the price for such negligence is catastrophic, don’t you know.

But it gets worse. For, you see, the blame doesn’t fall just on the obvious stupidity of our friends and families who voted for this corrupt, death-wish government in whose stranglehold we find ourselves. Ultimately, it is our fault. It is the failure of those of us who know better but have failed miserably to educate our own. Living our lives with a captive audience of family, friends, co-workers, socialites, fellow worshippers at church and other parents at school — everyone in our everyday walks of life — far too many of us have allowed uneducated, history-devoid, denial-riddled, fantasy-driven, anti-gun and anti-hunting, anti-capitalism general ignoramuses to remain so and run amok, when by all thoughtful considerations, it was our duty to educate and upgrade everyone in our lives to truth, logic and the American way.

It is the terminal curse of apathy and disconnect that got us into this shameless mess we find America in today, and in all honesty, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

We all saw it coming, but political correctness caused most of us to clam up in the ridiculous mindset that it was more important to avoid hurting feelings than to stand up for what we knew in our hearts was being trampled underfoot. Sadly, America has become a nation of ultra-thin-skinned, whining little girls, afraid of our own shadows and so cowardly as to back away from the simple solution of speaking the truth when we know we are supposed to do so.

I have been damned as being a radical extremist my entire adult life for simply standing up and relentlessly promoting and celebrating self-evident truth, logic and common sense. The devil brigade acting upon the Saul Alinsky deception playbook has made its mark by lying, cheating and attacking with the very hate that it accuses everybody else of harboring. With an overall complicit media to bullhorn the brigade’s agenda, a nation of sheep has taken the pill and swallowed it whole.

Welcome to the new fat, soft, cowardly nation of wimps with the perfectly corrupt president and pack of soulless hounds in government that they deserve.

Look at Harry Reid. Charlie Rangel. Listen to Nancy Pelosi. What kind of idiots do they represent? A huge army of idiots who wish to do nothing for their country, but whine for their government to do everything for them. Welcome to France, ladies and gentlemen, only worse.

There always have been bad, ignorant people in the world. But in the United States of America, land of the free and home of the brave, the epicenter of rugged individualism founded on the premise of live free or die, where the powerful DNA of defiance got us where we are as the last, best place on Earth, the ultimate violation is that so many hardworking, truly entrepreneurial, independent Americans backed down and failed to stand up when we saw the wimps squawking about all the wrong stuff.

Everything from the New Deal and Great Society on has been a dismal and grossly counterproductive failure, yet we continue to allow corrupt bureaucrats to keep jamming more of the same down our throats with barely a whimper of resistance. How pathetic. How lame. How un-American.

The Tea Party is a better-late-than-never step in the right direction back to the glorious “We the People” experiment in self-government, but as far as I’m concerned, we haven’t begun to turn up the heat nearly enough quite yet.

Each and every conservative and liberal American who knows that we cannot spend and tax our way out of debt, who knows that an exit strategy instead of a victory strategy is the same as surrender, who knows Fedzilla is criminal in its refusal to be accountable with our hard-earned tax dollars being blowtorched with unprecedented and insane wastefulness, that a federal government suing Arizona for simply implementing constitutional law is treasonous, and who fails to communicate this with everyone we know is actually complicit with this bizarre, fundamental transformation of the greatest country in the history of humankind.

What in God’s good name are we thinking? How much more of this can we possibly put up with? Will we show true American fortitude to stop the beast at the voting booths in November and in every election in the future to make sure no more communists, no more Marxists, no more anti-American redistributors of wealth are allowed in positions of power ever again? Can we outvote the pimps, whores and welfare brats? Will we be smart enough to put every politician to the Pelosi-Obama litmus test? We will be smart enough never to let a Mao Zedong fan club in the White House ever again?

Will we have learned our lesson that we the people have a daily, moral responsibility to be suspicious of everyone in government and the media and watchdog them properly from now on? Will we finally never forget? Will we finally say never again and mean it?

Will we finally use the incredible freedoms as provided by the sacrifices of our amazing warrior heroes of the U.S. military to be sure this insanity can never happen again? Can we show at least that basic respect for the privilege of being American and how we got here?

It is not them, it is us. Pogo was right.

An open letter from Jon Voight….had to share this.

For the past year and a half, the American people have been witnessing a great and clever lie –  a lie put forth by President Obama.  It is the greatest lie orchestrated by an American president and his administration.  The lie is a potent aggression that feeds the needs of people who have not educated themselves enough to understand the assault on us all or the very poor and needy who live to be taken care of.  President Obama feeds these people poison, giving them the idea that they are entitled to be taken care of by the fruits of the labor and minds of wealthier Americans – Americans who embrace their God-given freedom and understand that capitalism is the only truth that keeps a nation healthy and fed.  We live in a country that embraces free will and personal growth.  We live in a democracy where everyone has a voice in the workings of government  but only half have a stake in such.

Obama’s lie goes very deep.  You see, he has been cleverly trained in the Alinsky method. And it is very important that every American knows what that method is.  It is a Socialistic Marxist teaching… a blueprint for revolution which calls for working within the system to undermine it.  With this method, little by little, he rapes this nation, undermining our strengths and taking down our defenses.  Adding this to his weak security stance and his declaration that we are “not a Christian nation,” he is making us more vulnerable to Islamic extremists.  The world, which used to look up to us as a symbol of hope and prosperity, now wonders what will become of the world if America loses its power.  The American people, the ones who understand what is taking place, have come together in the thousands, vowing to try to stay together as a unit, bonded by respect and freedom, and bonded by love of their country.  These people, men and women, from all races and from all walks of life, shiver to think that this once-great nation is on a path to becoming a third-world nation. This will be the first President ever to fundamentally weaken the US of America.  President Obama uses his aggression and arrogance for his own agenda against the will of the American people when he should be using his will and aggression against our enemies.

Every loving American, who stands for peace and truth, who values the promises in our Declaration of Independence and the wisdom of our Foundering Fathers, and who demand the security of our nation, must come out and join the Tea Parties in their states.  The opposition will continue. They will continue their tactics of division and diversion. They will plant their bullies among us. Everyone must pay close attention to who stands next to him.  We can weed out the liars and the agitators. Let us all stay in God’s light.  Let no man pull us under.  We can and will prevail.

May God Bless us all.

NOTE:  Jon Voight makes reference to Saul Alinsky, author of “Rules for Radicals.” As Saul Alinsky wrote, in dedication for his book  –  “Let us not forget the very first radical.  From all our legends, mythology, and history (for who knows where mythology leaves off and history begins), the first radical known to man, the one who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”

So there you have it, radicals model themselves after Lucifer.

“The Christian religion – its general principles – must ever be regarded among us as the foundation of civil society.  For whatever makes men good Christians, makes them good citizens. The Bible is a book which teaches man his own individual responsibility, his own dignity, and his equality with his fellow man.”    — Daniel Webster
